Your new home has a pre-existing home security system
Many times after you buy a house, you’ll see that the old owners didn’t take a security system. All the components work, are installed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this instance, all you might have to do is to call and set up a new contract. A Vivint expert will still come to your home to make sure there are no usability issues, and they might offer options on upgrades. It's a quick trip, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without paying for any new components -- unless you get some new devices.
The old owners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a one-time transfer fee to make the process simpler. If the owners are moving to an apartment complex or smaller home, turning over the Vivint service might be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your home security equipment with you
You might want to bring along your existing Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. Luckily, it's pretty easy to transfer, as most smart devices are portable. You can remove each device yourself or contact a Vivint expert to come and take down your devices. Then a pro will put in the same features -- and any new things you need -- in the new house. The home security contract will stay the same.
